Will Birmingham join the Triple Threat Basketball League?

In a social media photograph posting, the Triple Threat Basketball League names the Alabama Knights as an expansion team for their 2022-23 season.

The Knights are owned by Roger Chaney, a local businessman. “I am looking to bring fun and excitement to the city of Birmingham, Alabama where I grew up," Chaney said.

The Knights were originally announced as the Talladega Knights, which was supposed to have been a 2022-23 American Basketball Association expansion team.

No playing venue has been named, but Chaney is targeting the Center Point area.

The TTBL, a semi-pro basketball league, began play in 2019 by two former American Basketball Association employees, Andre L. Vaughn and Michale A. Watson.

The league is currently playing with sixteen teams split into two divisions. For the next season, the TTBL plans to increase the number of teams and divisions to eventually become a nation-wide league.
